Peugeot 3008 Review

The Peugeot 3008 comes in at 4,447mm long and 1,624mm high when you include the roof bars. The urban crossover of the Peugeot 308 is the French manufacturer’s midsize SUV, with the smaller 2008 and larger 5008 also being part of the company’s crossover SUV range. This version of the 3008 is slightly longer than the previous generation, with overall reduction to the vehicle height. There is a generous amount of ground clearance with the 3008 also, at 220mm - a significant figure for an SUV of this size.

Boot space is a generous 520 litres, making it an easily accessible space for a range of needs. However, if you place the rear seats down, you get a mammoth 1580 litres of boot capacity. The new Peugeot 3008 also has made further improvements to the amount headroom both driver and passengers have; an extra 36mm, with rear leg room also increasing by 24mm.

Engine & Economy

The engine in the Peugeot 3008 is a refined piece of engineering, offering a smooth drive and superb fuel economy, with a range of engine sizes available for both diesel and petrol. Whether you want a 1.2 litre PureTech petrol engine capable of delivering 56.7mpg, or a 2 litre diesel BlueHDi engine offering 62.8 mpg, the fuel economy is a major part of what makes the Peugeot 3008 such an extraordinary car.

Also available are a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel engine, with different manual and automatic options available depending on your choice of engine. The Peugeot 3008 is perfect for those that  do not require a receptive drive but prefer ease over forcefulness.

Driving Technology

Peugeot 3008 models from the Allure onwards come with connected 3D navigation as standard. The navigation in these vehicles is displayed on a crisp 8” capacitive colour touchscreen, with the system including Europe wide mapping, 3D city mapping and voice recognition.

As well as this, each new Peugeot 3008 comes with a free 3-year subscription to TomTom, which is able to display all current roads thus allowing you to navigate with ease. On top of this, the software is able to display localised weather for your route, nearby fuel stations and whether there are any road works, road closures and any other delays.

Safety Features

Each and every Peugeot 3008 comes with a Safety plus pack, which is comprised of various elements to help make your driving experience all the more pleasant. The pack includes active blind spot detection (ABSD), active lane keeping assistance (LKA), advanced driver attention alert system (DAA3), and Peugeot Smartbeam Assistance.

The Peugeot Smartbeam Assistance technology is perfect for late night driving, with the system detecting everything about your driving conditions to ensure that you have one less thing to worry about. Whether down to weather or fading light, the system automatically detects when you need to take advantage of the full LED beam lights - fitted as standard across the range.

Further adding to these features is Peugeot Connect SOS and Assistance, which is the perfect feature for those who may be at a higher risk than others. The system uses GPS tracking through a sim card which, when activated, sends an alert to the emergency services about your precise location.

Interior & Colours

A recent refresh of the Peugeot 3008 has seen it become even more refined and just as striking. While the previous generation vehicle had style, this new model brings out a new elegance that makes it quintessentially French. Its distinct and sharp design looks to break the mould instead of conforming to the norms of what a crossover SUV is supposed to be, with the innovative style being shown through aspects such as the gloss black rear panel, and signature claw-effect rear LED lights.

The same elegant styling has been carried through into the interior, with the Peugeot i-Cockpit taking centre stage on the front console. With full grain leather trimmings, satin chrome and black detailing and soft fabric being found throughout, no shortcuts have been taken in delivering a pristine looking interior. Whether you want entire leather coverage, or prefer a cloth interior, the Peugeot 3008 has a multitude of selections available to you.
